I Woof You

Howdy!  I made a card that I'm entering in the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #252, using some adorable "new to me" Reverse Confetti products!

I've been wanting the cute Puppy Love stamp set from Reverse Confetti for quite some time now and I was finally able to pick it, along with the matching Puppy Love Confetti Cuts!

This was such an easy card to make!  I started by cutting a piece of patterned paper from my stash with the smaller scallop side of the Double Edge Scallop Border Confetti Cuts.  To add a bit more detail I cut the row of small circles below the scallop with a die from Edge Essentials Confetti Cuts.  I stamped the dog and dog bowl images from Puppy Love and colored them with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Watercolor markers and die cut them with Puppy Love Confetti Cuts.  I stamped and die cut the sentiment, and added some red hearts around the dog.  Being a dog lover this stamp set really tickles me  :)

Life is better in FLIP FLOPS!

Hello there!  It's Friday, and I have the next few days all to myself.  My son is off for a weekend with his friends, and my daughter and hubby are attending an anime convention.  So the dog and I are just hangin :)  I made a card for the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #52 "Cut It Out" using the current sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!

This sketch really had me scratching my head!  I was fascinated looking at the DT samples to see their interpretations.  When I saw that the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge was about using their exclusive die cuts, I decided to make a summer card using the Summer Greetings die cuts.

I stamped the flip flops from Flip Flop Season in black ink, then "colored" them by adding distress ink to the solid, reverse side of the stamps, spraying with a mist of water, and stamping.  I used Twisted Citron, Mustard Seed, and Spiced Marmalade.  I cut the panel using the SSS Postage Edge Frames dies and mounted it onto some Kraft card stock.  I cut the "flip-flop" die from Kraft card stock and popped it up on my card with some tiny pieces of foam tape.  The words "life's better in" is from the SSS Happy Block Greetings stamp set.  I added some splatters, sequins, and twine to my card to finish it.

We're back in the thick of summer here again in PA enjoying some hot and soupy weather (NOT!)  Still dreaming of those crisp, cool, fall days...

Wishing you a fin-tastic day!

Hello there!  It's been awhile since I've posted a card so I'm extra happy to be able to share one with you today!  I have a last minute entry for the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge using the adorable Reverse Confetti stamp set, Mermaid Kisses!

To make my card I started by dry embossing the Sunburst Cover Panel Confetti Cuts onto a sheet of white card stock.  I then cut a reverse mask of the cover panel to place over the card stock and used my ink blending tool and some Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink to color the rays and center circle.  I used Doin' The Wave Confetti Cuts to cut the slanted wavy border for the bottom of my card.  I colored that piece with Mermaid Lagoon and Salty Ocean Distress Inks and my ink blending tool, adding some water and ink splatters after coloring.  I popped the panel onto my card base with some foam dimensional tape.

I stamped the mermaid and fish from Mermaid Kisses and colored them using Zig Clean Color watercolor markers.  I cut them out with the Mermaid Kisses Confetti Cuts.  I stamped the sentiment from Mermaid Kisses using black ink in the center of the sunburst.

I want to get a few more summer cards finished before I'm totally in the fall/winter crafting mood.  It's been cooler here in PA this past week (80's and not humid as opposed to 90's and humid, if you can consider that cooler!)  Although I love all the seasons, I'm definitely ready for some cool, crisp fall air to arrive!

Have a good one and thanks for stopping by!

Calling All Sistahs "Remind a Sistah" Blog Hop!

Hello, sistahs (and any mistahs who might be visiting!)  This month we're having a twist on our monthly CAS-ual Friday Calling All Sistahs blog hop called Remind a Sistah.  All of us in the hop will be making projects that we can send to a sistah to remind them of the importance of doing their monthly self exam and yearly mammograms.

To make my card I stamped one of the stamps from Starlequin on some white card stock using VersaMark ink and heat embossed in white.  Next I colored over the white embossing using Tim Holtz Distress Crayons (Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, and Mermaid Lagoon).  I sprayed the paper with some water and used my finger to blend the color.  When the paper was completely dry I used the 2 smaller tags from Tag Buddies Fri-Dies to cut out the tags.  The sentiment "you better check yourself" is from Calling All Sistahs, "hey there" is from Girlfriend, and the word "girl" was die cut using Sistahs Fri-Dies.  I cut a few hearts from black card stock using Fun-Fetti Fri-Dies and added Glossy Accents to make them shine.  This card is 3 3/4" X 5 1/2".

I hope you'll consider making some cards to send out to your friends and loved ones to remind them to check themselves.  I hope you'll also consider joining us at the Calling All Sistahs Facebook group.  Anyone can join the group and participate in our monthly blog hops to help spread this important message! To help you make your cards CAS-ual Fridays carries a wonderful line of stamps and dies just for this purpose, the Calling All Sistahs Collection50% of the profits from the sales of the Calling All Sistahs Collection goes to National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. for research and medical help!

I hope that you'll hop along with us!  There will be a $15.00 gift certificate to the CAS-ual Fridays store given to 3 people who comment along the hop.  Comments close on August 19th @ 12:00 AM EST.  Your next stop on the hop is the talented RAHMAT GOUSE!

Creative Fuel

Hello, friends, so happy you stopped by!  I have a card for you today using the Reverse Confetti August Sketch For You To Try!

I used one of my new favorite Reverse Confetti stamp sets, Just Brew It, to make my card today.  I LOVE my coffee, and I definitely consider it "creative fuel"!  I'm a day time crafter, and coffee is just the thing to get my creative juices flowing.

I stamped the coffee cup using teal ink, and cut it out using Just Brew It Confetti Cuts.  The pink polka dot scallop circle was cut using Circles 'n Scallops Confetti Cuts.  The patterned papers I used for my card are all from Elle's Studio.  I added a few clear and white sequins, along with some white twine, to finish the card.  How about you, does coffee enhance your creativity?

If you haven't played along yet with this month's SFYTT there's still plenty of time.  The winner will receive a $20.00 gift card to the Reverse Confetti store, woohoo!!

Winnie & Walter Rerun

Hello!  I'm sharing a card today that I made for the August Winnie & Walter Rerun Challenge.  This month they're using In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet with Joni Andaya.

I was watching some videos this morning at Ellen Hutson where Julie Ebersole and Nichole Spohr both used Pink Fresh Studios Felicity Collection as part of their cards.  The cards they made were so fresh and lovely, and their use of the Felicity Collection was very inspiring!  I had won this entire collection several months ago at Winnie & Walter but hadn't had a chance to use it yet, so this was the perfect opportunity to do so!

All of the patterned papers, the sentiment, and the Sequin puffs are from the Felicity Collection.  I used the vase, flower, and leaf from In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet with Joni Andaya, stamping on patterned paper and cutting with the matching dies.  The scallop edge paper that the vase is sitting on was die cut using Essentials: Audrey Cutaways.  I really do love working with patterned papers and doing paper piecing so this card was a joy to make!

Thanks for stopping by, hope your day is wonderful!

Essentials by Ellen August Mix It Up Challenge

Hello there!  Today I have a card to share with you that I made for the Essentials by Ellen August Mix It Up Challenge.  They're mixing it up with Winnie & Walter this month so I HAD to play along!  Sadly I missed out playing along with all the Share the Love festivities when Winne & Walter featured Essentials by Ellen, so there was no way I was going to skip this challenge!  These products work beautifully together!

I used the lovely leaves from Winnie & Walter's In Bloom: Renee's Leaves.  It's been hot as the devil where I live so I've been dreaming of cool, crisp, Autumn days lately!

I stamped the leaves using VersaFine Sepia ink on some Canson Mixed Media paper.  This paper is thinner than regular watercolor paper which makes it easier to fussy cut images.  It also works great if you're using your Zig watercolor markers direct to paper, which I did here.  Being thinner it can't take a ton of water, but if you're not using water it's a great paper!  Along with the leaves I die cut the berry stems from Essentials by Ellen Wild Garden from gold glitter tape.  For the sentiment I stamped the word "autumn" from Winnie & Walter's The Big, the Bold and Seasons, using VersaFine Sepia ink.  I heat embossed the words "have a beautiful", which is from Essentials by Ellen Mondo Magnolia, using gold embossing powder.  I wanted to add some splatters to my card (because I love splatter!), but decided against it.  The last card I made where I decided to add splatter at the end got totally ruined and I wasn't in the mood to take chances with this one lol!  Oh well, I still think it's pretty :)

Thanks for stopping by today, have a good one!

May your every dream come true

Hello, lovelies!  I'm up on the CAS-ual Fridays blog today sharing a colorful watercolor card!

To make this card I started by adding watercolor to a piece of watercolor paper.  I used Distress Inks to do my watercolor and the colors from top to bottom are Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean, and Wilted Violet.  I applied the inks using the ink smooshing method.  I started with a strip of acetate and applied the ink to it and then sprayed it with water and dabbed it on my paper.  For a couple of the colors I applied ink twice to make them more vibrant.  After everything was dry I used numerous CAS-ual Fridays stamp sets to add the various white embossed flowers and stems.  The sets I used are Loving Thoughts, Girlfriend, Wonderful Words, and Casual Comfort.  I first stamped the sentiment from Wonderful Words in black directly on my card but I ended up accidentally smudging it slightly (and being the perfectionist I am I couldn't let it go like that lol!), so I ended up stamping the sentiment again on vellum and fussy cutting it and placing it over the original stamping.  It worked well, I think, it definitely covered up the smudge, although I would have preferred to have the sentiment directly on the card.

To find the supplies I used today be sure to stop by CAS-ual Fridays!  If you decide to make a purchase please treat yourself to my discount code below.

Concord & 9th Birthday Bash Blog Hop!

Hello!  I'm so excited to be here today to help Concord & 9th celebrate their 1 year birthday!  Their stamp and die designs captured my heart from the moment I first discovered them!  The owner's, Angie and Greg, are kind, generous, and supportive, and I couldn't be happier that they've had so much success in their first year!

In addition to the blog hop there are giveaways, discounts, and lots of other fun happenings going on all this month at Concord & 9th, be sure to check it out HERE!  As if that weren't enough, they're generously giving away a $20.00 gift card to their store at each stop of the blog hop this month (details on that at the end of this post!)

Now on to my card!  I wanted to create a card that expressed my feelings about Concord & 9th, and this sentiment says it perfectly!

I do believe that for we card makers, beautiful, inspiring stamp designs enrich our lives, at least they do mine.  There's nothing quite like the butterflies I feel inside when I first lay eyes on a stamp set that makes my heart go pitter patter and inspires me to CREATE!

I adore the beautiful fonts Concord & 9th uses for their stamp sets, and this one happens to be my favorite!

To make my card I started with an ink blended background.  I didn't have the exact shade of blue card stock that I needed so I used my Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink and my ink blending tool to create it.  I stamped various flowers from one of my favorite Concord & 9th stamp sets, Wildflower, and embossed them with white embossing powder.  I colored the flowers using Zig Clean Color Real Brush watercolor markers.  I used some of the flower stamps, cutting the petals apart, to make the "leaves" for my card.  I stamped the sentiment, from By Your Side, using Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I added lots of clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to finish my design.

Be sure to leave a comment below for your chance to win a $20.00 gift card to Concord & 9th  You have until August 18th to leave your comment, when I'll be drawing a random winner.

I want to thank Angie and Greg for inviting me to participate in their celebration, I wish Concord & 9th MANY more years of success!

Reverse Confetti August Release Blog Hop

Well hello there!  So happy you stopped by for the Reverse Confetti August Release Blog Hop!  We have a lot more ideas to share with you today, you won't want to miss a single stop on the hop!  After you hop be sure to visit the shop, all the new products are available in the Reverse Confetti store now!

My first card today uses the wonderful new In a Jam stamp set along with the Jam Jar Confetti Cuts.

I showed you a card a couple of days ago where I watercolored the jam jar, but today I'm showing how versatile this die really is!  I had this cherry paper in my stash and I thought it would make the perfect paper pieced jam jar.  And just one of these cuties wouldn't be enough so I filled my whole card with them!  I highlighted the center jar by adding the stamped label from In a Jam which I cut using the Jam Jar Confetti Cuts.  A cute twine bow finishes this simple card.

I promised you a card using the cute elephant from Coffee and You, and here it is!

OMG can you handle the cuteness?!!!  I colored the elephant and mouse and coffee cup using Copic markers and cut them out using Coffee and You Confetti Cuts.  I started the card with a Kraft card base, and on top of that I placed a the Kraft alphabet background that I cut using ABC Cover Panel Confetti Cuts.  The white frame was cut using All Framed Up Confetti Cuts.  I stamped the sentiment on some black card stock, embossed with white embossing powder and trimmed it.  I stapled one end to the card and used some foam dimensional tape to curve the banner on my card.  This was so easy to make using all of the wonderful stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti, but I think it packs a big punch of cuteness!

Now it's time to hop along and see all of the wonderful creations the Confetti Crew members and our special guests this month, Fetti Friends Teri Anderson and Veronica Zalis, have made to inspire you!
