FUSION 2nd Year Anniversary

Hello!  I was so honored when Kimberly Wiener asked if I would be a special guest for the FUSION 2nd Year Anniversary Celebration!  One of the things that makes the FUSION challenge special and that I most love about it is that you always have a choice whether you'd like to use their inspiration photo, or their sketch, or both.  I love choices :)  For my card today I used a little of both, the inspiration photo and the sketch!

As you can see I was inspired by the oval shape in the sketch, and I also used the light and dark pink shades from the inspiration photo along with just a hint of yellow.

To make my card I first die cut 2 oval shapes, one white and one yellow to use behind the white.  I used a Simon Says Stamp heart border die to cut the white oval.  I colored the hearts using Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry distress inks and my blending tool, and then inserted the Spun Sugar hearts (which I also coated with clear Wink of Stella) back into the white die cut oval.  I used foam tape to pop up the 3 Picked Raspberry hearts and then coated them with Glossy Accents.  The birds and "be mine?" sentiment are from The Stamps of Life "hearts2love" stamp set.  I coated the birds wings with glossy accents and their bodies with clear Wink of Stella, although it's hard to see in this picture.  The tiny tag is from Winnie & Walter and the word "valentine" is from Simon Says Stamps Paper Hugs stamp set.

I want to thank Kimberly for asking me to be part of this very special celebration!  Be sure to head on over to the FUSION challenge blog and see what all of the designers and guests have created!
