Countdown to Confetti: Day 1

Hello, friends!  It's time for the June Reverse Confetti peeks to begin, yahoo!!  I promise you, you are going to LOVE this months release!

We're peeking 2 awesome new stamp sets today, MERMAID KISSES and SEASIDE.

I absolutely love this sweet little mermaid and the other fabulous images in this stamp set!  The sentiments are really wonderful too!  To make my card I started with a piece of watercolor paper and I used various shades of blue and blue green Distress Inks to cover the piece with ink blending.  Next I added some water splatters.  I used the new SCALLOPED COVER PANEL Confetti Cuts to die cut the piece.  This die is such a fun accompaniment to any nautical themed stamps, but I can also see it working with lots of other types of cards too.  I used my Zig Clean Color watercolor pens to color the mermaid, fish, and ocean plants, and die cut them with MERMAID KISSES Confetti Cuts.  I used a couple of shades of green Distress Inks to ink blend on another piece of watercolor paper and stamped the sentiment on that.  The card is finished with a few clear sequins and tiny blue and green gems.  Now on to my next card, which uses the new stamp set SEASIDE.

This is another sea themed stamp set with lots of great images and sentiments!  For my card today I used the whale and anchor.

To make this card I began by using one of the QUICK CARD PANELS which I placed on a navy and white card base.   I used a piece of silver specialty paper from my stash behind the panel and then I placed some die cut waves which I cut using Doin' The Wave Confetti Cuts, on top of the panel.  For the tag I used the new SCALLOPED TAG LAYER Confetti Cuts which I cut from white card stock and placed over a white Topped Off Tag Confetti Cuts tag.  I also used Top O' The Tag Confetti Cuts to make the blue topper.  The whale was stamped using Wplus9 Silver Lining ink, and the anchor was stamped using Wplus9 Ocean Drive ink.  I cut them out with the new SEASIDE Confetti Cuts.  To make the sentiment I cut the "whale done" sentiment in half so I could easily bend it to follow the curve of the waves, and embossed in white.  I finished the card with a few silver sequins and some ribbon and silver twine for the tag.

So there you have it, we're off to a great start with this fabulous release!  Be sure to leave a comment on all of the design team blogs and on the Reverse Confetti Blog for a chance to win a 15.00 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store.  There's also a 15.00 prize up for grabs on the Reverse Confetti Facebook page so be sure to visit there too.
