Hello!  Today I have a card that I'm entering in 2 challenges, Sparkle & Shine Challenge #8 and AAA Cards Game #43 Star Scenes.

As you can see there's some fabulous inspiration to work with in the photos above!  I used the starry night theme, along with taking inspiration from the colors and streamers and celebratory feeling in the first photo, and came up with this card.

First I embossed the stars (Winnie & Walter) on a piece of watercolor paper, then added some Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor over top.  The lanterns (which I wanted to make look like they were floating in the sky) are from the Winnie & Walter's stamp set The Party.  I embossed those in white, then colored with a red Zig Clean Watercolor pen.  The tassels were embossed in white and simply colored with my Wink of Stella glitter pen.  The sentiment was cut with a PTI die.  I added Pretty Pink Posh sequins in clear and gold to finish my card.

This was a fun card to make, hope it tickles :)

  1. Love this fun design! It looks fabulous with the patriotic colors and that wonderful watercolored background! I have W&W's The Party and you have reminded me I still haven't tried out the lanterns!

  2. Super card and I love all those lanterns floating up into the night sky. Thanks for playing at AAA Cards.

  3. Pretty! Love your vibrant watercolor background. Thanks for playing along with us at Sparkle & Shine.

  4. Cool card! Thanks for playing over at AAA Cards Challenge :) Justine

  5. You really captured the perspective of lanterns floating upwards here, very clever! And I love the unusual subject matter. Thanks for playing with us at AAA cards.
