Miss You

Hey there, so glad you stopped by to visit!  Today I'm sharing a card that I made for the current Freshly Made Sketches Challenge using some of my favorite Reverse Confetti products!

To make my card I first die cut pieces for the tag using Scalloped Tag Layer Confetti Cuts and Hang Ups Confetti Cuts.  Next I cut the sand dollar using Sand Dollar Confetti Cuts.  I stamped the Bitty Banners sentiment using navy ink, and die cut it with Bitty Banners Confetti Cuts.  I arranged all of my die cut elements on a card that I added some subtle splatter to using Tea Dye distress ink.  I added a few of the little leftover bits from the scalloped tag as embellishments for my card, aren't they cute?!  The bonus is that they match the tag color perfectly ;)  The card is finished with a twine bow on the tag.  I love all of the new nautical themed products from Reverse Confetti, they definitely make me wish I lived by the sea!

I think you're delightful

Thanks for stopping by today, sweet friends!  I have a simple little card to share with you that I made using some lovely new stamps from Concord & 9th.  As soon as I saw the current sketch at (CAS)E this Sketch I knew these stamps would work perfectly with it and I couldn't wait to make a card!

I stamped the flower and leaves using PTI ink (Bright Buttercup, Melon Berry, and New Leaf).  The little dots are a stamp in the set, as is the "delightful" sentiment.  Every time I make a CAS card like this I think "gee, you should make CAS cards more often!!"  Haha, I can never seem to stick to that because I love lots of layers as much as I love CAS, but it's so nice to make something that comes together very quickly, don't you agree?!!

Thanks for stopping by today, have a wonderful weekend!

(CAS)E this Sketch #181

Hello there!  I have a card to share with you today that I made for the current (CAS)E this Sketch using some adorable Reverse Confetti products!

To make my card I started with a piece of white card stock.  I stamped the crab, whale, and octopus from Seaside using Wplus9 inks (Little Piggy, Silver Lining, and Beanstalk).  Next I used the Seaside Confetti Cuts to cut a crab, whale, and octopus out of Inkadinkado Mask Paper.  I covered the sea critters with their mask, and then used some distress inks to do some ink blending (Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon).  I added some water droplets to the ink blending to bring up some white spots.  When you remove the masks you are left with the stamped images and a bit of a white border around them.  For a scene like this I think by making it one layer like this it seems as though the animals are actually under the water.  I used Doin' the Wave Confetti Cuts to trim the top of my panel to give it a wavy look, and cut the bottom of the panel straight.  I popped the panel up on a white card base using foam tape.  I stamped the sentiment, also from Seaside, in black,  and added a couple of sequins to finish the card.  This was quick and easy to make, but I think it has a big cuteness factor!

Winnie & Walter July Leading Lady Week 2

Hello!  I want to thank everyone who left me comments for my first performance as Leading Lady last Saturday at Winnie & Walter.  I truly appreciate your kindness and support, I know we all lead busy lives and the fact that you took some time out of yours to write me a message means the world to me!  I hope that you'll visit Winnie & Walter today to see what I've created for week 2.  I'm still featuring fun ways to use your dies, although this week all of my cards use Essentials: Noelle Cutaways, one of my favorite Winnie & Walter die sets!  Here's a peek of one of my cards:

In Him My Heart Trusts

Hello my friends!  I'm here today with a card using the Reverse Confetti Sketch For You To Try #38!  If you haven't played along yet there's still plenty of time to do so, the link will be open until July 29th.  The winner will receive a $20.00 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store and claim the title of 'Fetti Fave!

For my card today I used MY HEART TRUSTS along with DOIN' THE WAVE Confetti Cuts and THANKS TAG Confetti Cuts.

I was looking at these patterned papers from Elle's Studio Sunny Days and I thought they would work perfectly with the sentiment.  God made the stars, He gave us light, and He made the land and the sea, and I tried to represent all of that on my card.  The white paper that I stamped the sentiment on was cut using the small rectangle from THANKS TAG Confetti Cuts.  To do that I first cut the rectangle, then slid the paper to make a square shape, making sure it was still all lined up with the die, and I cut it again.  I hope that makes sense, it really is very easy to do and do it often to get just the right shape I need.  I used DOIN' THE WAVE Confetti Cuts to make my teal waves.  To finish the card I added a few clear sequins.

Hope you'll play along with us, I'd love to see what you make with this sketch!

CAS-ual Fridays July Release Day 6

We've made it to the final day of the CAS-ual Fridays Holiday Release, and you know what that means, the products will be available in the store tonight at midnight EST!  I know you're anxious to get your hands on these amazing holiday stamps and dies and start planning your holiday cards!  Today we have 2 Hanukkah stamp sets to show you, Star of David and Spin the Dreidel!

I combined the 2 stamp sets for my card today.  To "color" the dreidels I took one of the stamps and trimmed it down to the shape you see (the stamps have extra border around them but this particular stamp is very very easy to trim because of all the straight lines).  I stamped the outlines first using black ink, then I used the solid back of the trimmed stamp to add color.  I happen to love this technique because it makes coloring stamped images very quick and easy and you can achieve a watercolor look if you lightly spray the inked solid stamp with a fine mist of water before stamping.  That's what I did her, using distress inks (Salty Ocean, Candied Apple, Mowed Lawn, and Spiced Marmalade).  I added a little bit of Salty Ocean ink splatter to my card too.  I stamped the sentiment in black, and placed the panel on a sparkly blue card base.  I love the festive feel the sparkle adds to the card!

You still have time to leave comments on the CAS-ual Friday blog for your chance to win one of 3 $15.00 gift certificates that will be given away to random commenters, so be sure to visit the blog!  Please feel free to use my discount code below when you place your order to enjoy a 15% discount.  I hope my cards have inspired you this week, thank you so much for joining me :)

CAS-ual Fridays July Release Day 5

Welcome back, friends!  Only 1 more day until the CAS-ual Friday Holiday Release is available for purchase, woohoo!!!  Today we have 2 festive stamp sets to share with you, Mistletoe & Holly and Holly Jolly Borders.

I just LOVE the sentiments in this stamp set!  I always listen to lots of Christmas music around the holidays, both contemporary and oldies, and this song is one that I can't get out of my head, "oh by gosh by golly, it's time for mistletoe and holly"!  My card is quite non-traditional, but I do love how it turned out.  I first stamped one of the borders from Holly Jolly Borders on an angle to make the background (I love that 2 of these stamps can be used for non-holiday cards!)  For the raised panel I stamped one of the borders using yellow ink and then die cut it with a circle die.  Notice that there's a panel with some pink peeking through behind that panel?  That's me fixing a boo boo!  I had first stamped a panel all in pink, but didn't like it because I thought I needed some additional color on my card.  But I had already put foam tape on the back of the pink panel and didn't want to waste it.  So I stamped the yellow panel and die cut the circle, but didn't get it lined up perfectly.  There was just a tiny bit of pink showing through, so I ended up staggering the 2 panels and letting the pink border show through.  Honestly it ended up looking much better that way.  Funny how things work out like that sometimes lol!  I stamped the mistletoe sentiment on my card, and the by golly sentiment on black card stock and embossed in white.  I ended up fussy cutting the embossed sentiment and separating it into 2 pieces to make it work better with my design.

Be sure to visit the CAS-ual Friday blog and leave a comment, there will be a $15.00 gift certificate to the CAS-ual Friday store awarded to 3 commenters!  Hope to see you back here tomorrow, I'll have more wonderful cards to share!

Stand Tall Darling

A happy hello to you all!  I'm up on the Drive By Crafts blog today with a card featuring the beautiful Hero Arts Color Layering Flamingo stamp set, and papers Elle's Studio: Sunny Days 6x6 Paper Stack.

CAS-ual Fridays July Release Day 4

So happy you stopped by today!  It's Day 4 of the CAS-ual Fridays Holiday Release and boy do we have a gorgeous stamp and die set to show you today!

Sleighride and Sleigh Fri-Dies are so versatile as you'll see when you check out what the other Girl Fridays have created!  The sleigh can be stamped and then die cut, or you can just use the dies to make a paper pieced sleigh, or even a sleigh shaker!  I used just the sleigh dies for my sleigh today.

To make the sleigh I cut the frame from silver card stock, and the inner part of the sleigh from some glitter white card stock.  I wish I could have gotten a better picture for you to be able to see the glitter but the weather wasn't cooperating lol!  I adorned my sleigh with the jingle bells from Sleighride, stamped and embossed in silver, and then die cut with the matching die.  I stamped the sentiment on vellum and trimmed it and attached it with vellum tape to the sleigh.  For the background I did some ink blending using Broken China and Tumbled Glass distress inks, and added some water droplets and Dylusions Linen White Ink Spray.  I cut several snowflakes using Funky Flakes Fri-Dies from glitter white card stock and added them to my card.  I wanted to keep everything on my card blue, white, and silver to add to the frosty winter wonderland feel.

Be sure to visit the CAS-ual Friday blog and leave a comment, there will be a $15.00 gift certificate to the CAS-ual Friday store awarded to 3 commenters!  Hope to see you back here tomorrow, I'll have more wonderful cards to share!
